As per Delhi University’s guidelines PWD category students are admitted in different courses run by the college. The college makes every effort to ensure that the classes of PWD students are made accessible so as to cause minimum inconvenience of such students. All the PWD students are given facilities as per guidelines provided by Delhi University. A society named ‘SAHYOG’ has been constituted in which all the interested college students are enrolled as members with an aim to guide, help and cooperate with the PWD students for their better academic and co-curricular performance.
The college has been stepping ahead to look after day-to-day matters related to PwD students and assure them equal access to various resources of the college along with other basic amenities. The college makes every effort to ensure that the classes of PwD students are made safely accessible, causing minimal inconvenience to these students. In addition, all the PwD students are given facilities as per the guidelines provided by the UGC and University of Delhi. Furthermore, a “Divyaang Sahayak Team” has been constituted under the NSS Unit, in which its volunteers are enrolled as members to guide, help, and cooperating with PwD students to ensure their seamless and safe accessibility to resources. These volunteers help the PwD students to write class assignments and tests.
More specifically, the initiative taken by the college for the PwD students are as follows:
1. Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC):
- An Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) is actively functioning to address and looking after day-to-day matters related to PwD students.
- The EOC monitors implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
2. Infrastructure Facilities:
- A separate room has been allotted for the PwD students with a notice that it is reserved for “Divyang” students only.
- Ramps along with handrails have been built to ensure the mobility to each department/office and accessibility of services/facilities to them
- Tactile walkways are installed for visually impaired students.
- Braille signage is used for all the display boards along with Hindi and English. .
- The classrooms are arranged preferably on the ground floor for the PwD students to ensure their safe and convenient mobility and accessibility.
- Accessible and special toilets have been constructed keeping the requirements of Divyang students in mind.
- Wheelchair facility available in the college.
3. Learning and Library Support:
- Braile books are available in the library for PwD students.
- Braile Library (Digital Information Resource Centre for V.I.) University of Delhi facilities available to our PwD students.
- Audio device is arranged for these students.
- Help The Blind Foundation supports visually impaired students through:

- Scholarships
- Education, Mobility, and Employability Training (EMET) Program
- Courses in Computers (MS Office), English Communication, Orientation & Mobility, and Employability Skills.

- Support and Representation:
- A Divyaang Sahayak Team under NSS assists and guides PwD students regularly. “Divyaang Sahayak Team” has been constituted under the NSS Unit, in which its volunteers are enrolled as members to guide, help, and cooperating with PwD students to ensure their seamless and safe accessibility to resources.
- Divyaang Sahayak team also help the PwD students to write their class assignments and tests
- PwD students have democratically elected representatives under EOC:
Sagar Verma (President), Priya (VP), Chhaya Verma (Secretary), Rashmi Kumari (Joint Secretary), Ayush Soni (Cultural-cum-Sports Rep.)
- Cultural and Social Inclusion:

- PwD students are encouraged and supported to participate equally in cultural and extracurricular activities. The PwD students are getting equal opportunity to express their talent by representing themselves in various cultural activities.
- Divyaang Diwas is observed to sensitize all college students towards the challenges faced by the Divyang peers.

- Examination and Admissions:
- For annual examination writers/ scribe are provided to the eligible PwD students to write their exams as per DU guidelines.
- Further extra time provided to the eligible students for examination as per DU guidelines.
- Writer/ scribe fees for examination is reimbursed by the college and DU.
- Reservation is provided to PwD students in admissions as per DU rulesFor annual examination writers/ scribe are provided to the eligible PwD students to write their exams as per DU guidelines.
In a nutshell, the college staff (both teaching and non-teaching) is highly sensitive towards the issues and concerns related to PwD students.
