Introduction

The Space and Infrastructure Committee of BRAC is responsible for the systematic planning, development, maintenance, and optimal utilization of the college’s physical and academic infrastructure. The committee ensures that infrastructural resources support effective teaching and learning processes, research activities, student support services, and administrative efficiency.

The committee functions through continuous assessment of infrastructural needs, coordination with academic departments, and adherence to safety, inclusivity, and sustainability norms. Its initiatives directly contribute to enhancing the quality of learning resources, improving campus accessibility, and maintaining a safe and student-friendly environment. • To plan and allocate infrastructure in alignment with academic growth and institutional priorities.

Infrastructural Facilities

1. Physical Facilities

The committee oversees the adequacy and quality of physical facilities, including classrooms, seminar halls, laboratories, staff rooms, administrative offices, and student common areas. Regular inspections and feedback mechanisms ensure that facilities remain safe, functional, and conducive to learning.

2 Library as a Learning Resource

In coordination with the Library Committee, the Space and Infrastructure Committee supports expansion and upgradation of reading spaces, accessibility features, and ICT infrastructure to facilitate blended and digital learning.

3 IT Infrastructure

The committee contributes to strengthening ICT infrastructure by supporting smart classrooms, Wi-Fi connectivity, digital notice boards, and e-governance facilities, thereby ensuring alignment with contemporary teaching and learning requirements.

4 Maintenance of Campus Infrastructure

A structured maintenance mechanism is followed for electrical systems, water supply, sanitation, fire safety, and physical assets. Preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out to ensure uninterrupted academic functioning and compliance with safety standards.

Inclusivity and Accessibility (NAAC Focus Area)

• Provision of ramps, railings, and accessible pathways for Divyangjan.
• Gender-friendly infrastructure, including clean and safe restrooms and common spaces.
• Adequate lighting, signage, and security arrangements across campus.
• Safe and well-maintained spaces for women and students.

Environmental Sustainability Initiatives

• Promotion of energy-efficient lighting and water conservation measures.
• Support for waste segregation and plastic reduction initiatives.
• Development of green spaces and environmentally conscious campus planning.
• Encouragement of sustainable practices in infrastructure usage.

• Upgrading of classrooms into fully ICT-enabled smart learning spaces.
